this past weekend was so nice -- the weather was perfect! mike and i outfitted our entire patio for outdoor living and spent almost all weekend out there. we now have a gas grill, a table with chairs, potted plants, a citronella candle, a tiki torch, a shelving unit for gardening stuff, and a new wooden home for the worms.

so mike's really into his worm garden. basically, we don't throw away non-animal-based food scraps. instead, we put them in our worm garden, where lots of red earthworms eat the scraps and make an extremely nutrient-rich soil. i was convinced of the validity of the worm garden this weekend when we used the soil the worms had made to replant the plants we bought. so far the plants are doing great.

mike and i saw the best baby story to date last week; the wife was a screamer and the husband fainted during the delivery. fortunately, he was revived and held upright by a nurse in time to watch the birth of his son, but he was quite a sight with his surgical cap tilted at a crazy angle. immediately after the birth, the mom stopped screaming and began cooing and softly singing happy birthday, which was so surreal since just minutes earlier she had been screaming so loudly she could have been starring in a fellini movie. it was quite a show, i tell ya. note to self: get to the hospital in time to get the epidural!

latest movie: "maid in manhattan" -- hey, not as bad as i thought it might be!

weeks pregnant: 28 weeks, 6 days
