we're almost to the one month milestone! in other words, we've made it this far and survived! emily is a great day baby and a great night baby, however she is a challenging evening baby. i guess it isn't unusual for babies to have a witching hour or two in the evening. in other baby news, we've determined that emily is a backpack baby, as opposed to a sling baby. she likes being carried around in her bjorn baby backpack. or i guess i should say, she doesn't mind being carried around in it. when she weighs a little more and her head isn't quite so wobbly, she'll be able to face out in the backpack and i'm sure she'll like that even more. it's neat that after spending a month with emily i can start to sense her likes and dislikes. she has a personality!

weight loss news: 22.5 pounds down, 30.5 pounds to go. last week i packed my maternity clothes and unpacked my "transition" clothes. here's a piece of moral-boosting weight loss advice: if your pants don't fit, buy bigger pants. also, keep clothes that don't fit you out of your closet. it's too depressing to open the closet door and see beautiful [read: sexy] clothes that don't fit you...yet!
