mike and i just found out that some friends are expecting their first baby. [i'm not naming names because as much as i'd like to be the one to spill the beans, i feel that it's a newly-expecting couple's right to make that announcement... oh heck, just email me and i'll tell you who it is. :)] anyway, i love their story: she missed her period, they took a home pregnancy test, stick showed two lines, whoops! basically they got pregnant almost by accident. but the best part is when they went to the doctor who took some measurements of the little bean and proclaimed her 10 weeks pregnant. HER FIRST TRIMESTER IS ALMOST OVER!!

for all of the women who actively are trying to get pregnant and who find solace in online communities, her story is their fantasy. to understand their story, i will tell it as they would:

i am 10 DPO TTC #2. do you think it's too early to HPT??!!?? i hate the 2WW!!! my DH and I BD'd every night this month...LOL. i want a BFP so bad! i hope AF doesn't come...

i am 10 days past ovulation trying to conceive my second child. do you think it's too early in my cycle to take a home pregnancy test? [most tests can't confirm pregnancy until at least 14 days past ovulation, i.e., the day you miss your period if your cycle is 28 days.] i hate the 2 week wait! [the two weeks between the day you ovulate and the day you can expect a home pregnancy test to confirm/deny you're pregnant.] my darling husband and i did the baby dance [had sex] every night this month. laughing out loud -- i can't believe i'm telling you this since i only know you by your handle, sfmama2be. i want a big fat positive [pregnancy test] so bad! i hope aunt flo [my period] doesn't come...
