on the eve of jennie and nick's wedding, the flower-making saga continues...
i finished centerpieces 13, 14, and 15 on friday morning, using the assembly line method suggested to me by my resourceful and wise husband. now to add the accessories requested by the bride-to-be, the butterflies.
the butterflies. we purchased the butterflies from a florist supply store at the san francisco flower market.

they came attached to wire, and to make them sturdy and able to be a part of each centerpiece, i wrapped them to bamboo skewers using florists' tape.

here is a finished centerpiece with butterfly.

at this point the centerpieces were done! my goal with the centerpieces was uniformity; i wanted them to look as identical to one another as possible. buying matching holders and using the same basic design pattern and number of flowers for each arrangement helped accomplish this goal.
the bridesmaids bouquets. the bridesmaids bouquets were fun to make. i used bouquet oasis forms and inserted each into a pre-made chiffon sleeve. each bouquet had a border of 8 brake fern fronds. i then inserted roses into the form to create a dense look. believe it or not, each bouquet had at least as many roses as each centerpiece did. the red bouquets had about 13 roses each in them; the yellow bouquets had slightly less because the blossoms were bigger. each bouquet got a cloud of babies breath and a pink butterfly. i kept the bouquets in the refrigerator until we left for the wedding the next day.

i have no pictures of the remaining 3 arrangements i made, but at that point in the day i was just happy to see the end was in sight! for the welcome/sign-in table i made a densely packed arrangement of all yellow roses (no greenery) with a blue butterfly. it was really pretty. for the altar i filled matching glass vases with assorted red and yellow roses. again, no greenery. the roses were so pretty that they were able to hold their own.
coming up. i sleep for 12 hours, then we transport our precious cargo to jennie and nick's wedding in san francisco.
xoxo
