last night i started christmas shopping for emily. i want to get all of my christmas shopping done before the birth of baby brother. ideally, everything christmas-related will be done before the birth of darling son. my ideal schedule goes something like this:

11.17 -- complete december newsletter for moms club and send to printer

11.25 -- celebrate thanksgiving with denis, jennie, nick, and nick's sister

11.26 -- buy christmas tree and wreaths

11.27 -- decorate tree and house

11.28 -- go into labor / have baby

11.29 -- home with baby

ha ha ha!

i got emily a present that i might live to regret [or that might disappear mysteriously one night...]: chimes the caterpillar, a combination xylophone and piano. according to the box, "she'll teach [my] child to play simple tunes in no time." that would be nice, but i'm predicting she'll teach my child nothing and drive me crazy in no time. but she's so cute! i couldn't help but buy it.

pregnancy update: i'm 37 weeks pregnant today. the baby is now considered full-term and if i were to go into labor they wouldn't try and stop it. this is exciting news but i'm not getting my hopes up that i'll deliver early. but wouldn't that be nice! ;)

weight gain update: i've now gained a grand total of 38.5 pounds. some women don't gain any weight in the third trimester. i obviously am not one of those women.
